Round 4

Kinzler outlasts his competition and wins going away, beating Slaughter and Dutch Roll by three shots, and getting his first win ($4) of the season.  At one point midway through the final round all three teams were tied at -29, but Kinzler prevails by shooting the RR of -4 (Ogilvy 68).  Slaughter settles for the RU ($1), his second in two weeks, beating Dutch Roll in a playoff on Elkington’s par on 18.  Dutch Roll had a solid round but Stricker’s bogeys on 17 and 18 knocked him out of the $.

Kinzler, last place on the Points list just a few weeks ago, is now in 8th place and has momentum heading into next week’s first major of the year. 

Round 3

Dutch Roll ties a Rotoff record for low R3 score at -11 (most recently set by Romig in Week 1) and is T1 with Kinzler and Romig at -26 overall.  It literall is anyone tournament to win as the top eight teams are separated by only three shots.  Can Dutch Roll hang on for his league leading 4th victory of 2008 and increase his Points lead?  Stay tuned.

Round 2

Slaughter makes a charge in round 2, shooting a RR -10 (Taylor seven birdies), and taking a two shot lead into the weekend.  Also shooting -10 was defending champ Sand Crabs, who gets back into contention tied for 5th place.  Romig and Gonzalez lurk at one and two shots off the lead respectively.

Golf Cheese Hoes holds on for the win ($8), her first of the season, enroute to a new course record of -31.  Defending champ Romig shoots the RR at -4 (Furyk 68) and outlasts Sand Crabs for the RU ($2) on Furyk’s birdie on 17, but comes up one shot short of the leader.  The win moves Golf Cheese Hoes up two spots to #8 on the Career Earnings list and up one spot in the Point standings, also #8.

Round 3

Golf Cheese Hoes maintains a two shot lead over Kinzler, Sand Crabs and Dutch Roll through three rounds at -30 overall.  Kinzler shares the RR at -10 (Ogivly 68, Garcia 69) to get into contention.  Defending champ Romig also shoots -10 and is currently in 5th place, four shots back.

Round 4

18 Hoes holds for the win ($4) in a playoff over Gonzalez when Qunniey birdied 18.  It’s 18 Hoes record eighth career win.  The RU ($1) is the third this season for Gonzalez (tieing Romig for 1st in career RUs) who takes over the top spot on the Points list.  Sand Crabs, Slaughter and Shlink Lincoln share the RR of the day at -3 to finish 3rd, 4th and T5 respectively.

 It was an exciting back nine as 18 Hoes and Gonzalez changed leads several times as Quinney and Mickelson battled in the final pairing.

Kinzler shoots the RR of the day at -8 to move into 4th place and still very much in contention.  18 Hoes gets a birdie on the last hole to take a one shot lead Gonzalez into the final round.  Golf Cheese Hoes sits in 3rd place at -24 overall, three shots off the winning pace.

Round 4

Honma gets the win, ($4) his first of the year (and career) beating 18 Hoes in a playoff on Imada’s birdie on 17.  It was a brilliant round of 67 for Imada that helped Honma come back from a four shot defecit through 54 holes.  The win also catapults Honma into 2nd on the points list.  After a slow start 18 Hoes gets a boost from Tiger to get back into the points race, settling for the RU ($1).

It was brutal conditions on the course, with only three rounds under par.

18 Hoes lights up the back 9 and shoots the RR at -9 (Tiger 66) to take a two shot lead into the final round.  Romig is at -26 for the tournament and sits in 2nd place.  Defending champ Gonzalez still has an outside chance, tied for 4th place.

Round 1

Sand Crabs gets an amazing round from tournament leader Troy Matteson (-7 on the South course is sick!) and leads by three shots after the first round at -14.  In 2nd place is 18 Hoes who is looking to bounce back from a horrendous start without his #1 golfer, some guy named Tiger.  Kinzler and Romig put together solid rounds of -10 each and sit tied for 3rd heading into tomorrow’s 2nd round.  Look for weather conditions to worsen over the weekend.  Lots of rain in the forecast.  Southies are Northies tomorrow and vice versa.

Round 4

Dutch Roll starts 2008 how he ended 2007, with a win.  It’s Dutch Roll’s 5th career win ($4.00) and the defending SLS Cup Champion gets an amazing final round from Steve Stricker to run away from the rest of the field.  He also bests the course record by five strokes with a -32.  Romig gets the RU ($1.00) in a playoff over Gonzalez and Honma on Furyk’s par on 14, his league leading 7th career RU. 

Round 3

Romig shoots lights out in round 3 with the help of Furyk’s 66 and moves into a tie for 4th place.  Slaughter is the 54 hole leader at -28, two shots better than Honma.  Slaughter is also looking to obliterate the course record (with only 2 starting golfers!) of -27 and will easily do so barring a round over par tomorrow.  In 3rd place is Golf Cheese Hoes, who has the tournament leader Weir, and sits four shots back.

Slaughter (Calc 66) and Golf Cheese Hoes (Weir and Ames 67’s) share the Rotoff Round of the day at -11, leaving them 1st and 2nd respectively.  Also tied for 2nd place is Honma (Johnson 67), one shot back.  Defending champion Sand Crabs is four shots off the lead and will need some low scores on Saturday to retain the Mercedes-Benz title.

Round 1

A new Rotoff season, and a familiar team at the top of the leaderboard.  Dutch Roll, the defending SLS Cup Champion, gets the Rotoff Round of the day at -9 to lead by 1 shot over a pack of teams T2, including rookie Honma.  Dutch Roll got four consecutive birdies from Baddeley on the back 9 to take the first round lead.  There’s still a long way to go however and the howling winds on the Plantation course will be a factor heading into the weekend.
