Round 4

Honma gets the win, ($4) his first of the year (and career) beating 18 Hoes in a playoff on Imada’s birdie on 17.  It was a brilliant round of 67 for Imada that helped Honma come back from a four shot defecit through 54 holes.  The win also catapults Honma into 2nd on the points list.  After a slow start 18 Hoes gets a boost from Tiger to get back into the points race, settling for the RU ($1).

It was brutal conditions on the course, with only three rounds under par.

Round 3

18 Hoes lights up the back 9 and shoots the RR at -9 (Tiger 66) to take a two shot lead into the final roundRomig is at -26 for the tournament and sits in 2nd place.  Defending champ Gonzalez still has an outside chance, tied for 4th place.

Round 2

Honma gets the RR of the day at -10 (Singh five birdies) and jumps up into a tie for 2nd place with 18 Hoes and Romig all at -19.  Sand Crabs maintains his lead and has a two shot cushion heading into Saturday.

Round 1

Sand Crabs gets an amazing round from tournament leader Troy Matteson (-7 on the South course is sick!) and leads by three shots after the first round at -14.  In 2nd place is 18 Hoes who is looking to bounce back from a horrendous start without his #1 golfer, some guy named TigerKinzler and Romig put together solid rounds of -10 each and sit tied for 3rd heading into tomorrow’s 2nd round.  Look for weather conditions to worsen over the weekend.  Lots of rain in the forecast.  Southies are Northies tomorrow and vice versa.

2008 Week 1: Mercedes-Benz Championship Scoring

2008 Mercedes-Benz Championship Rotoff Golf Leaderboard

Round 4

Dutch Roll starts 2008 how he ended 2007, with a win.  It’s Dutch Roll’s 5th career win ($4.00) and the defending SLS Cup Champion gets an amazing final round from Steve Stricker to run away from the rest of the field.  He also bests the course record by five strokes with a -32.  Romig gets the RU ($1.00) in a playoff over Gonzalez and Honma on Furyk’s par on 14, his league leading 7th career RU. 

Round 3

Romig shoots lights out in round 3 with the help of Furyk’s 66 and moves into a tie for 4th place.  Slaughter is the 54 hole leader at -28, two shots better than HonmaSlaughter is also looking to obliterate the course record (with only 2 starting golfers!) of -27 and will easily do so barring a round over par tomorrow.  In 3rd place is Golf Cheese Hoes, who has the tournament leader Weir, and sits four shots back.

Round 2

Slaughter (Calc 66) and Golf Cheese Hoes (Weir and Ames 67’s) share the Rotoff Round of the day at -11, leaving them 1st and 2nd respectively.  Also tied for 2nd place is Honma (Johnson 67), one shot back.  Defending champion Sand Crabs is four shots off the lead and will need some low scores on Saturday to retain the Mercedes-Benz title.

Round 1

A new Rotoff season, and a familiar team at the top of the leaderboard.  Dutch Roll, the defending SLS Cup Champion, gets the Rotoff Round of the day at -9 to lead by 1 shot over a pack of teams T2, including rookie HonmaDutch Roll got four consecutive birdies from Baddeley on the back 9 to take the first round lead.  There’s still a long way to go however and the howling winds on the Plantation course will be a factor heading into the weekend.

2007 Week 35: Deutsche Bank Championship Scoring

Round 4

Sand Crabs pulls out a much needed win ($4.00) to secure a spot in the first ever SLS Cup playoffs, bumping Romig out of the 4th spot. Gorilla Biscuits eeks out the RU ($1.00) over 18 Hoes on Wetterich’s par on 12. The SLS Cup playoffs matchups are set and begin this Thursday. Look for the 2007 SLS Rotoff Golf regular season recap and playoff preview later this week.

Congrats to Dutch Roll, 18 Hoes, Gonzalez and Sand Crabs for reaching the playoffs. The quest for the SLS Cup begins……………..

Round 3

Sand Crabs is one round away from moving into the final playoff spot, shooting the RR at -9. Overall Gorilla Biscuits, Kinzler and Sand Crabs are tied for 1st place with Dutch Roll just one shot back. If the playoffs were to start today Romig would be out. Stay tuned…..

And don’t look know but Tiger and Phil will be paired tomorrow in the 2nd to last group!

Round 2

Kinzler shoots the RR at -11 to take 1st place into the weekend. Two shots back is 18 Hoes at -21. Sand Crabs is currently 3 points out of 4th place overall. Four teams are down to one golfer left for the remainder of the tournament.

Round 1

18 Hoes is determined to make the SLS Cup Playoffs. Already the regular season leader in wins, 18 Hoes gets five birdies each from Clark and Mahan with an eagle and birdie from Mickelson to take the round 1 lead at -13. A grip of teams are one shot back and tied for 2nd place including Dutch Roll and Romig. Gonzalez and Sand Crabs are currently battling for the 4th and final playoff spot and are both tied for 6th place at -11. Interesting to note that current #1 seed Dutch Roll loses his #1 golfer (a dude by the name of Tiger Woods) to the fantasy cut. Interesting points race indeed.

Round 4

Sand Crabs pulls out the win ($4.00) over Gorillia Biscuits on Pettersson’s birdie on 14. Gorilla Biscuit’s RU ($1.00) is his third of the season.

With the win Sand Crabs gets to within four points of the 4th and final playoff spot.

Round 3

18 Hoes shoots an impressive -11 in round 3 and is just one shot behind the leaders. Sand Crabs, Kinzler, Gorilla Biscuits and Gonzalez are all tied for the lead at -29. Sand Crabs can pull even closer to the 4th and final playoff spot if he can stay on top of the leaderboard.

Round 2

Gorilla Biscuits shoots the RR of the day at -12 (Henry six birdies, Axley an eagle and three birdies) and is one shot off the winning pace. Gonzalez is in the lead at -23 overall. The tournament is very much up for grabs as only six shots separate the top six teams.

Round 1

Gonzalez shoots a solid -12 (ten birdies and an eagle) to take a one shot lead heading into Friday. Just off the pace is last week’s major winner Kinzler, and season win leader 18 Hoes.

And the points race is getting too close to call. Based on current points for round 1, only 6 points separate the top four teams.
